This placement provides an insight into surgical recovery and the care of patients with vascular conditions. Students will:
- Observe the day-to-day running of a surgical vascular ward.
- Shadow clinics, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
- Attend a range of sessions including vascular outpatient clinics, teaching sessions, and nurse-led clinics.
- Observe and learn from different members of the healthcare team, gaining a broad overview of vascular services and patient care following surgery.
The structured timetable includes time in clinics, ward environments, and teaching sessions, giving students a varied and well-rounded experience.
