When it comes to making decisions about your future career, nothing beats real life experience!

Work experience placements provide an excellent opportunity for you to gain an insight into professions within the health and care sector. They can support your career choices, personal development, and help build your knowledge and skill sets.

The Lincolnshire Talent Academy manages a wide range of placement opportunities on behalf of its partners, providing a central point of contact for all applications or enquiries.

We are committed to promoting the Disability Confident Scheme and as such, we welcome applications from people living with disability and can offer a range of adjustments and support as required.  Similarly, we welcome and support applications from people covered by all of the protected groups in the Equality Act 2010.

Interested in a placement?

We are excited to announce an updated process for managing work experience placements, making it easier for students to explore opportunities and secure a placement that matches their interests.

  1. Explore Placements: Browse through the short descriptions of available placements on this page to find an area that interests you.
  2. Register Your Interest: Click the link to complete the online form. You will need to provide:
    • Your personal details.
    • Your chosen placement area.
    • A short statement explaining why you are interested in or suitable for this placement.
  3. Application Screening: Once submitted, your application will be reviewed to ensure you meet the criteria for your chosen placement.
  4. Placement Management: Approved applications will be uploaded to our platform, where placement details, including dates, will be confirmed.
  5. Parental Consent and Risk Assessments: If you are under 18, we will obtain parental consent and ensure both you and your parent/guardian review the risk assessment and placement description.
Next Steps:

We will liaise with placement hosts to confirm availability and match students to suitable opportunities. You’ll receive updates and communication via email at key stages of the process.

We look forward to helping you gain valuable experience in your chosen area. If you have any questions, please contact us at nhs.talent@ulh.nhs.

Thank you for your interest in the program!
