Observing Health Care Support Workers within their daily role which includes:
- Clinical observations
- Personal care
- Mobilising patients according to their moving and handling plan
- Assisting the patient with food and fluids
- Assisting with toileting needs
- Wound care
- Pressure area care
Observing nursing staff:
- Medication round
- Completing new patient assessments and admissions
- Complex wound care
- Discharge planning
Observing either nursing staff or health care providers completing:
- ECG
- Venepuncture
- Catheter care
- Stoma care
- Vac dressings
Insights also available:
- Advanced clinical practitioner supervision
- Therapy team supervision
- Pharmacy supervision
During placement experience, students will always have a buddy and will not complete any tasks independently. They will observe all care alongside their allocated Buddy.
