During this placement, students will shadow a Consultant or Junior Doctor as they carry out their duties in the department. Students will observe a wide range of medical activities, gaining insight into the daily responsibilities and challenges of a medical professional. Tasks may include attending ward rounds, reviewing patient cases, and observing diagnostic or treatment processes. This placement is designed to give students an understanding of the diverse roles within acute medicine and the importance of teamwork in patient care. All patient-facing activities will require prior patient approval to ensure confidentiality and respect for the patient’s comfort.
