The candidate will receive an in-depth overview of how the Library and Knowledge Services support the Trust and contribute to excellence in patient care. And how the service assimilates with NHS England.
- Introduction to the electronic library management system to include issuing, renewing and returning books.
- Experience of processing journal article and book requests raised by staff.
- Dealing with enquiries at the Library counter.
- General administrative tasks including the processing of incoming/outgoing post and daily book deliveries.
- Assisting with the general library book collection including satisfying requests for patients and staff.
- Undertake the shelving and tidying of stock resources and general tidying of the library.
- Undertaking marketing activity.
- Unpacking deliveries and checking for contents against orders.
- Use of a computer and other library equipment.
- Visit to the Medical Education Centre.
- Contribute to the creation of current awareness bulletins.
- Book stock activity to be determined at placement.
- Dealing with expired readers.
- Introduction to literature searching and evidence searching for patient information leaflets.
- Introduction to processing article requests received from library customers.
