This placement provides a unique observational experience within stroke medicine. Students will:
- Attend ward rounds and outpatient clinics, observing how care is delivered to patients following a stroke.
- Gain an understanding of the patient journey by observing interactions between patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Attend teaching sessions, educational meetings, and specialist sessions such as neuro-radiology and therapy clinics.
- Learn about the different professionals involved in stroke care, from doctors and nurses to therapists and specialist staff.
This is a high-level observership, providing an in-depth look at stroke services and multidisciplinary working.
