Staff working in medical physics apply specialised physics knowledge to benefit patients. Medical physics is made up of a variety of specialisms:
• Radiation Protection and Diagnostic Radiology Physics
• Nuclear Medicine
• Imaging with Non-Ionising Radiation
• Radiotherapy
Whilst on placement, the individual will have the opportunity to work with clinical scientists and technologists working across the Medical Physics specialisms depending on the current clinical workload.
The student will have the opportunity to participate in practical testing of medical equipment, observe clinical imaging/treatment, and discuss the variety of jobs in the field.
