Staff working in medical physics use specialist physics knowledge for patient benefit. Medical physics is made up of a variety of specialisms:
- Radiation Protection and Diagnostic Radiology Physics
- Nuclear Medicine
- Imaging with Non-Ionising Radiation
- Radiotherapy
Whilst on placement the individual will have the opportunity to work with clinical scientists and technologists working across the Medical Physics specialisms depending on the current clinical workload.
The student will have the opportunity to get involved with practical testing of medical equipment, observe clinical imaging/treatment and discuss the variety of jobs involved in the field.
