During this placement, students will gain an insight into the daily running of a hospital ward specialising in the care of older patients.
Students will have the opportunity to:
• Observe ward rounds and see how doctors and the wider healthcare team review patient care and make clinical decisions.
• Shadow nurses, junior doctors, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs), and Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs) to understand the different roles and how they work together to provide holistic care.
• Gain an appreciation of how patient treatment plans are developed, monitored, and adjusted.
• Learn about the importance of communication, compassion, and teamwork in supporting patients and their families.
