Students will spend time observing various imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. The placement provides an opportunity to see how diagnostic imaging contributes to patient care. As this is a small department and students can only observe, one day is typically sufficient to give an overview of radiology. However, for those with a strong interest in radiography, medical imaging, or medical physics, a two-day placement can be arranged. This extended placement allows students to spend more time observing each imaging modality and exploring other areas of the hospital where medical imaging is utilised.
