Students will shadow pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, observing a variety of tasks:
• Medicines reconciliation and patient counselling during admission and discharge.
• Pharmaceutical care advice provided to other healthcare professionals.
• Dispensing activities in the pharmacy, including controlled drug handling.
• Store-based activities, such as stock management and inventory control.
This placement provides an overview of the hospital pharmacy’s essential role in patient care and medication safety.
