Insight into Clinics and Community Nursing Care

Duration 4 days

Students will spend one day in each of the following departments:

• Outpatients: Shadowing staff in outpatient clinics, observing patient care, and understanding how clinics are organised.
• Urgent Treatment Centre: Observing the team as they provide care to patients attending the walk-in centre.
• Community Nursing Team: For students aged 18 and over, shadowing nurses as they visit housebound patients to provide care such as medicine administration and wound care. Students aged 16–17 will assist the administrative team in the office, due to safeguarding policies around home visits.
• Welland Ward: Observing care on the community short-stay rehabilitation ward, gaining insight into patient recovery processes and team roles.
