This placement provides an opportunity to understand the hospital discharge process and the importance of patient care during this transition. Activities include:
• Escorting patients from wards to the discharge lounge.
• Assisting patients with meals and drinks.
• Communicating with patients to ensure their comfort and address any concerns.
• Tidying and organising the department, including the kitchen area.
Students will gain an overview of the discharge procedure and its role in maintaining patient flow and overall hospital efficiency.
