PLACEMENT INFORMATION:
The Acute Medical Short Stay (AMSS) unit is a 48-bed unit, for a maximum stay of 72 hours.
The Integrated Assessment Centre (IAC) is a referral unit for accident and emergency patients as well as GP referred cases, incorporating ambulatory emergency care (AEC) and a surgical admissions unit (SAU).

PLACEMENT DETAILS:
Whilst on placement, individuals will be shadowing a Consultant/Junior Doctor as they carry out their duties within the dept. Individuals will observe a range of activities in order to gain an appreciation of the medical role and the diversity of tasks undertaken. All patients facing activity will be subject to patient approval.
