Whilst on placement, individuals will be shadowing a Consultant as they carry out their duties within the dept. Individuals will observe a range of activities in order to gain an appreciation of the medical role and the diversity of tasks undertaken. All patients facing activity will be subject to patient approval.
Due to the nature of the service, students are informed that the placement is mainly observational.
This placement is offered in conjunction with the Dr You programme – a careers support service for prospective Medical Students, launched by Health Education England.
