Applicants for this placements must be able to drive/travel to various locations.
The NHS needs to plan for, and respond to, a wide range of incidents and emergencies that could affect health or patient care. These could be anything from extreme weather conditions to an outbreak of an infectious disease or a major transport accident.
Within United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, this specialist area of work is undertaken by our Emergency Planning Department who are responsible for the planning for such incidents such as a flu pandemic, site emergency evacuation, and major incident plans, and the delivery of the Trust strategies should such an incident occur.
Whilst on placement, the individual will assist and observe all aspects of emergency planning including satellite phone systems, fire planning, and where the opportunity arises, disaster planning/role play tasks.........
